The Montreal Canadiens made a big decision when they decided to keep Jesperi Kotkaniemi around for the full season.
It was a debate that happened long before the season even started, however most would agree that Kotkaniemi has earned his spot in the Canadiens lineup and won't be going anywhere soon.
However there are those that disagree and TSN's Gord Miller is one of those.
Miller mentioned on TSN690 recently that he doesn't think Kotkaniemi is on the right path to development and pointed out how the young forward only has one goal in his last 20 games. He strongly believes that Kotkaniemi would be better off in Finland or the AHL.
Before the season began, Miller stated that it would be a mistake and compared it to the Sam Gagner situation and how Gagner's career was derailed after getting NHL minutes too early in his young career.
What do you think of Miller's statements?
Gord Miller on TSN690 says he doesn’t think Jesperi Kotkaniemi is on the right development path, points to the fact he has 1 goal in his last 20 games, would prefer to see him play somewhere where he would score 25 goals, whether that’s in Finland or the AHL. #GoHabsGo
