The Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager Jim Rutherford are looking to switch things up a bit before the trade deadline.
One of the moves that Rutherford has been looking to make is flip forward Alex Galchenyuk to another team.
Galchenyuk was acquired from the Arizona Coyotes during the summertime along with defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph for Phil Kessel, a 2021 4th round pick and defenseman Dane Birks.
Unfortunately for both the Penguins and Galchenyuk, the 25 year old forward just hasn't been a fit and will likely be traded to his fourth team in three seasons.
The cost to land the former 30 goal scorer?
Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports that Rutherford will be willing to accept a draft pick or bottom six forward in exchange for Galchenyuk and his $4.9million cap hit.
Galchenyuk will be UFA after this season.
