After a month of action, NHL teams are starting to be able to identify their needs and surpluses going forward.
One of the teams that have been able to identify both is the Carolina Hurricanes.
NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reports that the team is looking to move one of their defenseman instead of losing one to waivers.
LeBrun claims that the team is willing to move Trevor van Riemsdyk or Haydn Fleury for a top nine forward.
Both defenseman are restricted free agents next summer.
The 23 year old Fleury has played in 11 of the Hurricanes 15 games so far with three points in 11 games while van Riemsdyk has played in seven of the Hurricanes games so far with two points.
It would be interesting to see the Canadiens unite Cale Fleury with his brother.
