The Montreal Canadiens turned some heads over the weekend when they completed their second offseason trade.
Just a little while after acquiring goalie Jake Allen from the Blues, the Canadiens followed that up with acquiring soon to be UFA defenseman Joel Edmundson who played with Allen in St. Louis.
Now it's up to general manager Marc Bergevin to get a deal done and it seems it's getting closer.
According to Nick Alberga of the Fan590 and Sportsnet, the Habs are closing in on a two year deal with Edmundson.
The bruising 6'4 215lb defenseman will be a great addition to Shea Weber and Ben Chiarot as they try and keep players away from Carey Price's crease.
This of course likely means that one of Brett Kulak or Victor Mete will be traded in the coming days.
Hearing that there's a high chance that recently acquired D Joel Edmundson re-signs with the #GoHabsGo. Nothing done yet, but sounds like a two-year deal is being discussed.
