The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman have admitted that the team is likely going through a rebuild.
Bowman said the team just doesn't have the talent to compete with the top tier teams across the league.
He's already shipped out some locker room and fan favourites and there could be another blockbuster on the horizon.
The Montreal Canadiens on the other hand look to be all in to a certain degree and have been built for a nice playoff run.
Bowman said he needs to restock the prospect pipeline and that's why there's some trade chatter coming out of Montreal.
Former NHLer and current radio host Georges Laraque suggested that the Canadiens give up some of their key prospects to land Patrick Kane.
Laraque believes the Canadiens could offer up Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Cole Caufield and a 2021 first round pick for Kane who the Blackhawks would actually retain salary on.
It's hard to imagine this trade happening.
Would you like to see it happen anyways?
