Montreal Canadiens' general manager Marc Bergevin decided to stay quiet at the NHL trade deadline.
With the Canadiens' fighting for a playoff spot, some fans wanted to see him try and make a big blockbuster type deal, however Bergevin stayed quiet and made minor deals for Jordan Weal, Christan Folin, Dale Weise and Nate Thompson.
Weal, Folin and Thompson all ended up helping the Canadiens down the stretch and Bergevin signed them to extensions.
The Canadiens kept all their prospects and their stars but missed out on the playoffs.
Former Canadiens' forward Maxime Lapierre took to Twitter last night to comment on Bergevin's decision to stay quiet at the deadline.
"Just a little thought..... The Canadiens did a good job by staying patient at the trade deadline! I'd rather be in Marc Bergevin's shoes right now than Jarmo Kekäläinen's. The future is bright!"
What do you think of Lappy's comments?
Petite pensée comme ça ..... Le CH aura finalement très bien fait d’être patient à la date limite des transactions !! J’aimerais mieux être dans les souliers à Marc Bergevin en ce moment que ceux à Jarmo Kekäläinen . Le futur est beau !
