It was a long six days however the Carolina Hurricanes finally officially matched the Montreal Canadiens offer sheet signed with Sebastian Aho.
The offer sheet was a gutsy move by Habs' general manager Marc Bergevin that would have landed the team a young center about to hit the prime of his career.
After getting the offer sheet done, Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin stayed silent despite making a couple of depth signings.
After the Hurricanes matched on Sunday, Bergevin released a statement on Monday.
"In tendering an offer sheet to Sebastian Aho on July 1, our objective was to add a talented young forward entering the prime of his career. With Carolina matching our offer, we wish Sebastian and the Hurricanes all the best,"
Doesn't sound like Bergevin is too happy.
Could he be adding something else soon?
