Earlier in the week former Montreal Canadiens assistant coach JJ Daigneault landed a great new gig as the new head coach of the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads.
It's a gig that will let him work a bit closer to home after serving as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL during the 2018-19 season.
While with the Canadiens, Daigneault worked with the defenseman which has always included an interesting mix of veterans and youngsters.
One of those veterans is Karl Alzner who's been a complete disaster since signing with the Canadiens and spends his time currently in the AHL.
While speaking to TSN 690 regarding his new gig, Daigneault was asked about his relationship with Alzner and Daigneault was straight to the point.
"It's one player I don't want to talk about. I'd rather just be straightforward with you."
Doesn't sound like the two got along at all.
Just asked J.J. Daigneault about coaching Karl Alzner in Montreal and what he thought about Alzner spending so much time in the AHL last season. "It's one player I don't want to talk about. I'd rather just be straightforward with you." #TSN690
