The Montreal Canadiens general manager search continues and it seems to have picked up steam really, really fast.

We've heard some names that interviewed during the first round and of course Patrick Roy's name has made the most noise.

Canadiens' insider Renaud Lavoie has given us an update on the search and it seems things are coming to a conclusion faster than expected.

Lavoie actually reports that we'll have an answer in the coming days.

“In my opinion, the list of candidates will soon drop to three. We will then turn to round number two. Will the hiring committee initially formed of Geoff Molson, Jeff Gorton, Bob Gainey and Michael Andlauer remain intact for this second round? Will we just keep Molson and Gorton? I can't wait to see what will happen in the next few days. ”

"If we don't appoint a new GM this week, we can expect an announcement next week."

Would love to know who the three remaining candidates are!
