Yesterday we saw plenty of offseason chatter regarding the Montreal Canadiens' which attached them to both Erik Karlsson and Matt Duchene

There's been lots of talk regarding the Canadiens cap space and how they should offer sheet Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner, however Marner would actually have to sign the offer sheet and it would likely cost the Canadiens four first round picks.

TVA Sports recently suggested the better idea would be to offer sheet Kasperi Kapanen which would likely only cost them one first round pick and a way cheaper cap hit.

However the Canadiens might have their own Kapanen waiting in the wings.

2018 2nd round pick Jesse Ylonen has been putting up similar numbers as Kapanen in the SM-liiga.

When Kapanen was drafted in 2014, he had already played a season and change in the SM-liiga and during the 2014-15 season put up 21 points in 41 games.

Ylonen made his SM-liiga debut this year and registered 27 points in 53 games, both averaging .51 points a game after they were drafted.

This is very interesting, especially considering like many of the Habs' prospects, Ylonen was a stand out at this past year's World Championships.
