The Montreal Canadiens were absolutely destroyed by the Washington Capitals last night.

While most of the Canadiens losses have come after the team looked good for at least one period, the Canadiens were a mess for pretty much a full 60 minutes last night.

One of the worst players on the ice by far was defenseman Jeff Petry who almost single-handily cause the first two goals of the game.

It wasn't the first game he's looked terrible so far this season but was by far the worst one.

Well there's at least some good news on the horizon for Petry and his brutal season.

Joel Edmundson was a full participant at practice on Thursday and paired up with Petry on the team's first defensive pairing.

It's a pretty good indication that he should be returning to action against the Buffalo Sabres.

Do you think Edmundson can help fix Petry?
