Over the weekend Montreal Canadiens fans got excited as the team announced that they had called up forward Ryan Poehling.
The Habs' prospect had a rough start to the season as he suffered a concussion and was sent to the AHL for roster reasons.
Poehling hasn't really gotten things going in the AHL but both Poehling and head coach Claude Julien believe he's better off in the NHL.
One former NHLer doesn't feel the same way.
Marc Denis appeared on TSN 690 and called the call up a mistake and pointed out he was the only real center the Canadiens' could have called up with the Kotkaniemi injury.
Denis adds that the NHL isn't a development league and that Poehling would benefit from more time in Laval to understand and get comfortable with the NHL.
What do you think of Denis' comments?
