Earlier this year, Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin told reporters that he was sticking to his "reset" plan and wouldn't be looking to add a rental.
The Habs' GM added that he wouldn't give up a first round pick or top prospect for a trade deadline rental.
While Bergevin might not be in the running for Artemi Panarin or Wayne Simmonds, it seems like he'll be looking to add some more depth pieces.
After bringing in Dale Weise and Nate Thompson, it wouldn't be surprising to see Bergevin add another backup goalie.
However according to Francis Gagnon, a backup goalie isn't the only thing.
Even after adding Christian Folin in the Weise trade, Gagnon believes that Bergevin will be looking to add another depth defenseman.
Do you think the Canadiens need more depth on the blueline?
Je crois vraiment que Marc Bergevin sera fidèle à son plan et qu'il n'hypothéquera pas l'avenir pour un joueur de location. Je crois quand même qu'il ajoutera un arrière au cas où... #CH https://t.co/utrGVQP99c
