The Buffalo Sabres are becoming quite the sad story in the National Hockey League.

Year after year we hear about their bright young stars and how this could be the year they make it back into the playoffs.

However for the ninth straight season the Sabres are out of the playoffs.

Yes that's right, nine straight seasons.

This is obviously frustrating for fans and players as well and one of those players is Jack Eichel.

We've heard Eichel vent his frustration before regarding the organization and it doesn't sound like his belief in the franchise is getting any better.

"Look, I'm fed up with the losing & I'm frustrated. ... It's been a tough couple of months. It's been a tough five years. ... I want to win the Stanley Cup every time I start a season. ... I'd be lying if I said I'm not getting frustrated with the way things are going."

Definitely the sounds of somebody who wouldn't mind being traded.

While Eichel doesn't carry any trade protection, he does carry a monstrous contract with an AAV of $10million through the 2025-26 season.

How much longer before Eichel demands a trade?
