Montreal Canadiens' fans finally got what they've been waiting for last night.... a win and Cole Caufield's NHL debut.

The forward was able to jump into the lineup as an emergency call up with Paul Byron, Jonathan Drouin and Tomas Tatar all labeled as questionable.

When head coach Dominique Ducharme confirmed Caufield's presence in the lineup, he mentioned that Caufield would be well surrounded and not playing on the team's fourth line.

He was right as Caufield got to play with Phillip Danault and Tatar and also registered lots of power play time.

After the game Ducharme was pretty happy with Caufield's performance.

"I liked what Cole did; he was solid. He had a few shots, almost surprised the goalie once on the PP, created a rebound for Phil in the 1st...played the game the right way, played hard"

Ducharme wasn't the only one happy as Tyler Toffoli was very happy with the energy Cole brings to the team and locker room.

"He's just a kid, he's just happy - I feel like every time I see him he's super happy; it's almost too nice - I think he just had fun, it's something he's going to remember forever...he's only going to keep getting better & better"

Caufield didn't register a point but put up 4 shots on goal on 18 shifts and 15:40 of ice time.
