The Montreal Canadiens and their fans took a tough blow this week when Corey Perry decided to ditch the team for the two time defending Stanley Cup champion, Tampa Bay Lightning.
Perry was in tears when the season ended talking about how much he loved playing with the Habs and chatter was building that he could be named captain moving forward.
However all that was thrown out the window when he jumped ship.
During his introductory press conference with the Lightning, Perry revealed that it came down to Tampa and Montreal in free agency.
He said it was simple, once Tampa put a two year offer on the table he jumped on it because of Tampa's "winning culture" and "Wants to help them win another one"
“At the end of the day, where I’m at in my career, I want to win.”
