The Montreal Canadiens are currently loaded with prospects which includes three key ones currently on the NHL roster.
It wouldn't be a surprise if Ryan Poehling and Josh Brook find themselves with the Canadiens at some point this season as well.
Now their top prospect has expressed his desire to join the Canadiens before the playoffs start.
While speaking with La Presse recently, Cole Caufield revealed to Guillaume Lefrancois that he wants to sign with the Canadiens in April and join them for the playoffs.
"My goal is to join the Canadiens at the end of the season if the team qualifies for the playoffs. "
Caufield added that he saw what Cale Makar did last year in Colorado and while he knows he has to earn his spot, he wants to do the same thing.
"I want what Cale Makar did last year in Colorado. I’m aware he played two years of NCAA, but he had an immediate impact when he arrived. This is something I would like to do. But I have to show that I have my place, even if I am a first-round choice. "
Based on these recent interviews by Poehling and Caufield, it's great to see two very confident top prospects ready to earn their spots on an NHL roster.
