The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin weren't lucky enough to move up at the NHL Lottery Draft, but they ended up scoring big at the NHL Draft anyways.
The Canadiens saw sniper Cole Caufield fall right into their hands at the #15 pick overall, they couldn't have dreamed of a better scenario.
Now everybody wants to know where will Caufield play next season.
Last year many expected Jesperi Kotkaniemi to stay in Finland for another year and play for his father, however Kotkaniemi ended up making the team right out of camp and spent the season in the NHL.
This year, many expect Caufield to play in the NCAA as he's already committed so he can't attend training camp.
But could we seem him in the NHL next season?
"I'd obviously have to think about it. It's a cool opportunity and if they want you, you've kind of got to take a look at it."
"...But until that day comes, I'm not really too worried about it. I just want to be here and enjoy my time here. It's college. It's a fun experience. I'm looking forward to it a lot."
While non-committal, Caufield definitely sounds like he would answer the call if the Canadiens asked him to.
Interesting comments here from Cole Caufield on if he'd be willing to decommit to take part in #Habs training camp: "I'd obviously have to think about it, It's a cool opportunity, and if they want you, you've kind of got to take a look at it." https://t.co/mIZP2aGu43
