While general manager Marc Bergevin hasn't been a busy player yet during free agency, he's been extremely busy this offseason.
The Habs' GM is trying to make his team tougher to play against and ready for a playoff run.
After missing out on both Wayne Simmonds and Alexander Wennberg, Bergevin has turned his attention to a former Stanley Cup champ and Team Canada gold medal winner.
According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Canadiens are among three teams talking to free agent forward Corey Perry.
Seravalli adds that Perry wanted to sign with Toronto but that door is closed after they signed Simmonds, now Perry is talking to the Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues.
Perry had an up and down regular season but looked great during the Dallas Stars' playoff run.
Would you like to see Perry in a Canadiens uniform?
Frank Seravalli says Corey Perry was interested in signing him the Leafs but that's probably not an option now after the Simmonds signing. Seravalli names the Canadiens, Blue Jackets and Blues as teams that have interest in him.
