The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin have been one of the most active teams during free agency and it's led to some unhappy people.

According to reports, Brendan Gallagher isn't happy with his contract situation while Bergevin has gone out and signed two right wingers.

While Tyler Toffoli can also play left wing if needed, he primarily plays right and it could mean Gallagher is on his way out.

According to Pierre LeBrun contract talks have broken off between the Canadiens and Gallagher and it kind of ended on a sour note.

Elliotte Friedman adds that it likely started with the Josh Anderson signing who also plays right wing.

"When MTL signed Anderson to that extension, I had a feeling it was going to be trouble. When you go outside your team, its going to burn someone on the inside. They’re going to say “I bled for you & you’re giving that guy money?” I think that’s how Gallagher feels"

While it would be a trade that hurts initially, Bergevin might have already made the better investments in Anderson and Toffoli who carry an AAV of $5.5million and $4.25million respectively while Gallagher is looking for a big pay raise in the $6-7million area.

We know Gallagher's injury history and could be risky when considering a six year investment.

Has Gallagher played his final games in a Canadiens' uniform?
