The New York Islanders announced a pretty significant roster move on Thursday.
Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello announced that the team has placed NHL vet, Andrew Ladd, on waivers.
The two time Stanley Cup champion has been disappointing since signing his massive seven year $38.5million contract in 2016.
Lamoriello says the organization did not see enough from Ladd during a five-game conditioning stint in the AHL to believe he's ready to return to the NHL.
The Isles' GM added that he believes he'll clear waivers.
Ladd served as the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets captain from 2011 to 2016 before signing with the Islanders during the summer of 2016.
Do you think anybody will take a chance on him?
