The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin announced a contract signing on Thursday.
The team has locked up forward Alex Belzile for another year.
Belzile earned his respect throughout the organization for his time in Laval and his performance in the playoff bubble last year.
He signs a one year deal that will see him earn $750k at the NHL level and $250k at the AHL level.
From the Canadiens press release:
"Belzile, 29, suited up for two games with Montreal last season, amassing one assist. He was among the group of "Black Aces" recalled from the American Hockey League ahead of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Prior to that experience with the Canadiens, Belzile played a key role with the Laval Rocket, collecting 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in addition to serving 39 penalty minutes in 17 games. He also posted a plus-6 differential."
