The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin are expected to announce a roster move today.

According to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, the Canadiens will be placing backup goalie Keith Kinkaid on waivers.

Kinkaid who was signed during the summer was expected to be a more reliable backup than Antti Niemi however has failed in doing so this year.

After six games, five of which were starts, Kinkaid has registered a 1-1-0 record along with a 4.24 goals against average and .875 save percentage.

It'll be interesting to see if the Habs have decided to call up Charlie Lindgren or Cayden Primeau from Laval.

More to come.
