The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin announced a roster move on Wednesday.
Canadiens' forwards Paul Byron, Tomas Tatar and Jonathan Drouin have all been dealing with injuries lately.
Bergevin announced that Drouin has been placed on long term injured reserve.
The Canadiens announced in a statement:
"Forward Jonathan Drouin will take an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons.
He was placed on long-term injured reserve by the club. We ask everyone to respect his privacy."More details to come.
