The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin announced a contract signing on Wednesday.
After acquiring him through trade this weekend, the Canadiens locked up defenseman Joel Edmundson to a contract.
The 27 year old lands a four year deal that carries an AAV of $3.5million.
Edmundson brings some great size to the blueline at 6'4 and 215 lbs, can protect and patrol the crease as well as register the occasional point. He registered seven goals and 20 points in 68 games this past season.
The Manitoba native won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues.
It's official. Welcome to Montreal, @JEdmundson3!#GoHabsGohttps://t.co/X11jYCYGhI
