A little bit of a tough blow for the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. 

With the season winding down and no roster limits when it comes to the playoffs, the Canadiens were hoping to have lots of depth.

One of those pieces was expected to be Ryan Poehling however that won't be happening. 

The Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that Poehling's season is done. 

"Forward Ryan Poehling suffered a season-ending wrist injury that requires surgery. An update on his expected recovery period will be issued after the medical procedure."

After struggling last year, Poehling had really found his game over the last month or two and ends his 2020-21 Rocket season with 11 goals and 14 assists in 28 AHL games.
