The Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin announced a roster move on Friday afternoon.

The team has called up defenseman Gustav Olofsson from the Rocket.

So far this season in Laval, the 24 year old has seven assists in 20 games.

It's an interesting move and Olofsson has potential but has been sidelined by injuries and missed almost all of last season because of shoulder surgery.

The 6'3" 200lb blueliner has registered 11 assists in 56 games of NHL action with the Minnesota Wild in the past.

The team also announced that they've placed Paul Byron on injured reserve.
