The Montreal Canadiens announced today that they were placing backup goalie Keith Kinkaid on waivers.

While the current Canadiens' struggles haven't really been his fault, Kinkaid hasn't been able to get the job done as a backup goalie and only has one win in five games since the start of the season.

The team announced that they would call up one of Charlie Lindgren or Cayden Primeau later on in the day.

Either way, both would have been kind of a surprise considering Lindgren's struggles at the NHL level and Primeau's lack of experience.

When all was said and done, the Canadiens decided to call up Cayden Primeau. With the Canadiens playing back to back games on Thursday and Friday, it's possible we see Primeau make his NHL debut.

What do you think of the Canadiens' decision?
