It's been an interesting summer for the Montreal Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin which saw some very unpredictable things happen.
With question marks surrounding the future, Bergevin has locked up one of his key pieces.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Nick Suzuki is about to sign a long term extension with the team.
We've seen a lot of youngsters sign long 6 or 7 year deals across the league this offseason so we might see the same for Suzuki.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of contract Suzuki gets after the Canadiens let Jesperi Kotkaniemi join the Carolina Hurricanes through an offer sheet.
More details to come.
Working on exact terms, but hearing Montreal and Nick Suzuki are closing in on a long-term extension. Good way to start the season.
