The Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks played a pretty tight game last night on a night the Blackhawks honoured Andrew Shaw.

When all was said and done, the Blackhawks skated away with the win.

However there was one play still lingering on the NHL's Department of Player Safety Friday morning.

Calvin de Haan got away with a bit of a slew foot on Canadiens forward Cole Caufield and wasn't penalized on the play.

He was however penalized by the NHL on Friday.

The Department of Player Safety announced that de Haan has been fined $2500, the maximum allowable for the play.

Check out the play again below, what do you think of the NHL's decision?
