The Montreal Canadiens placed forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi on injured reserve earlier this week.
The move explained Kotkaniemi's struggles at the start of the year as the youngster has been dealing with a groin injury that flared up last week.
After last night's big win against the Boston Bruins, the Habs hit the ice for practice in Brossard on Wednesday.
To some people's surprise, Kotkaniemi was on the ice for practice with his teammates.
While the young Habs' prospect didn't take his regular place on the third line, he rotated in and out on the fourth line.
#Habs Kotkaniemi (still on IR) is wearing a maroon 4th line jersey along with Cousins, Suzuki and Weal. Thompson, Weber and Petry are not practising — taking maintenance days before flying to Philly.
