Back at practice this morning with a regular jersey, Ben Chiarot is at the center of countless trade rumors. TVA Sports insider Renaud Lavoie adds to the rumors.

During his appearance on the JiC show, he made a statement that did not go unnoticed!

"Had it not been for the lower body injury suffered on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot would have already left the city via a trade. Possibly before Tyler Toffoli, who was shipped to Calgary at noon on Monday." - Renaud Lavoie

Let's take a brief look back together. On February 12, Chiarot was injured during the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

A lower-body injury announcement, a recall for Corey Schueneman and then Chiarot was placed on the injured list.

Today, the day after the Tyler Toffoli trade, the defenseman is back at practice and therefore no longer on the injured list.

So, if the insider is telling the truth, we should expect a trade involving Ben Chiarot to materialize very soon.

Between last Saturday and today, apart from the Toffoli's trade, no major transaction was concluded. We can therefore believe that the teams interested in the Canadiens' defenseman have not filled their need elsewhere and therefore, by deduction, that negotiations can resume and even be concluded quickly!

We are far from "kicking the tires" to sound out the interest of an opposing team and everything could happen quickly!
