KING PATRICK REACTS TO THE APPOINTMENT OF CANADA'S NEW HEAD COACH

Whenever there is an important position available with the Canadiens, you can be sure that Patrick Roy's name will be mentioned.

Need a coach? Patrick!

Need a general manager? Roy!

If the guy in Youppi were to retire, someone somewhere is going to say that Casseau would make a great mascot!

But then again, as you know, Roy didn't get the GM and head coach jobs!

So some journalists asked him how he felt about Martin St. Louis' appointment...

Very well...

Fairly well...

Fair...

Bad...

It's not clear!

Here is his statement: "I know him as a player, not as a head coach. What I read about him this morning, he seems like a very passionate person. When you come in from the outside, it's easy to get a message across the first day. It's another to keep hammering the same message every day, motivating the troops, coming up with new strategies. There's a lot to manage. It's been a great accomplishment for me to get into coaching and I'm sure it will be the same for him. I'm glad people are being nice to me like this. That they would like to see me there is flattering but at the same time, I'm not an unhappy guy. I work in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. I coach the Remparts in my city. I have the chance to work with young people, to make a difference in their lives, to do what I love."

We get the impression that his writings say the right things, but that deep down, it's probably something else he'd like to tell the world.

At least he'll be quiet for a while...
