An optional skate was held this morning and we were able to see some interesting details that should shed some light on the lineup that Claude Julien will be using tonight.

Shea Weber, Victor Mete and Brandon Davidson skated, which likely means they will not be in uniform tonight.

Weber is still being bothered by an injury, Victor Mete looks to be losing some confidence of his coach and Brandon Davidson looks to be the oddman out when the comes to the future of the Canadiens blueline.

The positive in this story is that it seems to point to a Montreal Canadiens debut for David Schlemko, who hasn't played a single game yet for the team since being acquired by trade this summer.

Schlemko was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights this summer in return for a fifth-round pick in 2019, but was injured during training camp.

Joe Morrow looks to have earned the full trust of Claude Julien, Morrow has show some upside including offensively even if his game against the Blue Jackets wasn't exactly spot on.
