While we have had numerous updates concerning the injuries to David Schlemko, Shea Weber and Carey Price, when it comes to Artturi Lehkonen there has been complete silence.
Two weeks ago the Canadiens announced that the Finnish forward would be out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. We have yet to get any type of update since this original announcement.
With that being said, head coach Claude Julien was asked about Lehkonen’s status when he met with the media this morning.
Eric Engels tweeted that Julien says he gets a heads up from the team’s medical staff a couple of days before a player is ready to start skating again, but he has not received any word when it comes Lehkonen.
This statement seems to indicate the young forward is not close to returning to action any time soon. Lehkonen has two goals and five points in 18 games this season.
No news on Artturi Lehkonen. No timeline. Coach says he gets a heads up a couple of days before a player resumes skating. Hasn’t happened in this case, yet.— Eric Engels (@EricEngels) November 28, 2017
