Several Montreal Canadiens fans are beginning to hope that Marc Bergevin unloads veterans like Andrei Markov in order to build for next season, but Bob McKenzie had something much harsher to say about the Habs defenseman.
The renowned hockey expert said that Markov has been playing the worst hockey of his career and NO NHL team would be interested in acquiring his services because of his 5.75 million dollar salary.
It is quite surprising to think that the veteran defender could not help any team that’s trying to win the Stanley Cup this year as some specialists had begun to point to the Washington Capitals as a possible destination for the General.
Last week, we wrote that Markov was having serious personal problems and his off-ice woes could well be the cause of his poor performances as of late.
Do you think Marc Bergevin should try to exchange his 37 year-old defenseman or would it be better that he stay in Montreal?
The great @TSNBobMcKenzie says Markov is playing the worst hockey of his career. We see this but when Bob says it, it gets weightier.— BrianWilde (@BWildeCTV) January 28, 2016
